Public Events
The Stan Hywet Needlework Guild promotes needlework education and fellowship among needleworkers. The Guild hosts annual public events at Ohio Mart in October, which include Stitchers’ Fair and Children’s Corner. In July, the Guild teaches an Adult/Child Workshop. You can read more about these offerings below. The Guild also hosts a show that alternates each year during Ohio Mart - Stitchery Showcase or the Textile Arts & Artisan Show.
For 2026, the Guild is hosting a special one-day public event in August - Antique Needlework Tools with Dawn Cook Ronningen. This will be a unique opportunity to learn about and view some lovely antique sewing tools while visiting Stan Hywet. A self-guided Manor House tour and lunch will be included with this event.
The Guild invites guests to attend one regular business meeting and stitch-in, or one evening meeting and program, at any time during the membership year, which runs April through November. Please visit our New Members page for more information.

Stitchers’ Fair at Ohio Mart
The Stan Hywet Needlework Guild encourages folks of all ages to give needlework a try! The annual Stitchers’ Fair is a great place to pick up items to get started, or perhaps re-started, in this rewarding hobby.
Members describe their stitching as relaxing, meditative, soothing, creative, fun, challenging…so many positive adjectives. There are different types of needlework that range from simple to complex, and it’s never too late to start a new hobby.
Children’s Corner at Ohio Mart
Join us in sharing the joy of needlework with younger generations! Children’s Corner is a favorite event for parents and children visiting Ohio Mart on the weekend. Children can choose from a selection of colorful projects that include a plastic canvas, large plastic needle and yarn at no cost. A Guild member helps the child get started, and they can stay to complete their project or use the written instructions provided to complete it at home.
Excited smiles emerge on the children’s faces as they learn a new skill and watch their project develop. Children’s Corner helps create needlework memories for both children and parents.
Adult/Child Workshop
The Guild offers a special Adult/Child workshop every year in July. It is open to the public. Each child attending must be accompanied by an adult.
The 2026 class will be held on July 8th and features a colorful canvas project called Bargello in Flight (a Wendy Moore design). Visit the Programs event page for more details.
